TANGO BAJO IS HOSTING AGUSTINA BERENSTEIN IN APRIL 2024
We are excited to be hosting internationally acclaimed maestra Agustina Berenstein, a widely respected professional tango dancer and teacher during April 2024. Agustina will be conducting open level workshops on Saturday 6 April and 13 April at 12 Surrey Road South Yarra. She will also be performing at our milonga on the evening of Saturday 13 April.
We know from previous hosting experience that Agustina is a gifted teacher of both leaders and followers. She will be also available for private lessons by appointment. Workshop 4: 4:15pm - 5:45pm: Pulsing Changes of Direction
These workshops will be held at 12 Surrey Road South Yarra. The cost of any one workshop is $45 per person per workshop or $80 per couple per workshop.
The cost of entry to our milonga on 13 April 2024, which will include performances, will be $30 per person. Alternatively, we are also offering a package of all four workshops plus the milonga at $200 per person or $380 per couple.
Bookings for workshops are welcome. If you are planning to attend without a partner, bookings for workshops are essential in order for us to keep the numbers of leaders and followers balanced.

Agustina at Tango on the Bay in Mount Martha
The first gig of the Victorian leg of Agustina’s Australian tour will be at Tango on the Bay on Friday 5 April where she will be the DJ at Martha’s Milonga. This milonga will be at the Main Hall of Martha House Community Centre, 466 Esplanade, Mount Martha. 8:30-11:30pm. $25 entry includes light supper, tea & coffee.
Agustina will be also be teaching a workshop at Martha House on Sunday 21 April: ‘Tango Soul - Integrating concepts form head to foot’ (no partner required). 4-6pm, $60 per person or $110 per couple. Bookings are essential for this workshop and can be made by contacting Meg on 0419 826 061.
About Agustina Berenstein
Agustina, with over 25 years of experience in tango, has earned global recognition for her expertise in both expressive dance and tango instruction. Trained by renowned milongueros such as Pupi Castelo, Teté Rusconi, Gustavo Naveira, and Julio Balmaceda, she has honed her skills both in Buenos Aires and worldwide. In addition to her extensive dance background, Agustina discovered her passion for teaching, which has taken her to prestigious venues and festivals across Europe, Australia, and Asia. Notable highlights include her participation in the documentary for Forever Tango and her tenure at Salón Canning, where she has become a muse for renowned photographer Guillermo Monteleone.Recognized for her organic innovation and commitment to tango tradition, Agustina's classes blend aesthetics with deep-rooted pedagogy. She has developed her own instructional materials, accessible to all, and is admired internationally for her impeccable technique, musical interpretation, and engaging personality.Currently, Agustina focuses on expanding tango's horizons through collaborations with other dancers and the development of workshops catering to various styles and preferences.
